Community Chest Awards 2024
The Community Chest Awards 2024, held on October 7 at Andaz Singapore, celebrated the outstanding contributions of organisations and individuals dedicated to enhancing the social service sector. This annual event recognise those who empower communities in need through generous donations, fundraising and volunteerism activities that support Community Chest's work.
The event was graced by Guest-of-Honour President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Minister for National Development and Minister-in-charge of Social Services Integration, Mr Desmond Lee, and hosted by Minister for Social and Family Development, Second Minister for Health & Minister-in-charge of Muslim Affairs, Mr Masagos Zulkifli.
We are immensely grateful for our partners’ support on our journey towards ensuring every person has the opportunity to live a life of dignity within a caring and inclusive society. We seek to inspire and encourage more partners to continue supporting our social service users and sustainably build upon our partnerships to make giving a way of living.

Foreword Coffee Roasters Mobile Coffee Cart
Founded in 2017, Foreword Coffee is a social enterprise and coffee company with the mission to mainstream disability and normalise inclusion. They provide training and employment opportunities for people with disabilities and mental health needs and strive to reduce social stigma through meaningful interactions over coffee.
Today, Foreword Coffee can be found in 8 locations and also provides services from coffee carts to wedding favours.
Foreword Coffee is proud to be a recipient of the Enabling Mark (Platinum) Award in 2021 and 2024, the highest accolade given to organisations for best practices and outcomes in disability-inclusive employment.
APSN Chaoyang School Choir
APSN Chaoyang School caters to primary school students with mild intellectual disability. Their very own choir comprises students from 9 to 12 years old. Their repertoire ranges from classical chorales to movie soundtracks, and even popular pop medleys.
The choir has had the opportunity to perform for a wide audience at events such as the Purple Parade Festival, Children Charities Fair, and even the National Day Concert at Gardens by the Bay. Last year, they took part in their very first Singapore Youth Festival competition. The choir has garnered stellar accolades over the years and is warmly received at performing events.
APSN Chaoyang School delivered a heartfelt performance featuring two enchanting songs, “I See The Light” from Disney’s Tangled and “A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman.
APSN Tanglin School LaTeens
APSN Tanglin School offers special education including vocational education for individuals with mild intellectual disabilities (IQ 50-70). APSN Tanglin School uses a holistic approach in its curriculum, integrating academic, vocational, and social skills essential for open employment and lifelong learning.
The school aims to empower individuals with special needs to actively contribute to society and is dedicated to inspiring and developing the capabilities of partners and the community to foster an inclusive environment.
APSN Tanglin School’s LaTeens delivered an incredible performance of “Rhythms of Unity,” captivating the audience with a stunning blend of Latin Cha Cha and contemporary Korean music.
MINDS Perform
MINDS Perform, a performing arts group that includes the renowned MINDS Taiko Drum Troupe, is aimed at training clients for public performances, up to industry-specific professional standards.
SIA-MINDS Employment Development Centre (SMEDC) Performing Arts Troupe was formed as part of the curriculum and enrichment for clients with skills in music, dance or special arts. One of the Performing Arts Troupe’s objectives is to cultivate a sense of belonging such as taking care of costumes, personal hygiene, grooming and responsibility.
Mohd Farhan Bin Mohd Noor captivated us with his extraordinary talent during the performance. Despite challenges in verbal communication, Farhan shone brightly in music, showcasing the skills he has developed through years of training with MINDS.
Accompanied by dancers Yao Hua and Melody Lim, they delivered a moving presentation of dancing, singing, and instrumental performance.
Singapore Police Force Band
Introducing a classy duo from the SPF Band, blending youthful talent with seasoned experience. On the piano is Special Constable (SC) Joel who is currently serving his full-time National Service with remarkable skill and passion. Accompanying him is Station Inspector (SI) Emiliah, the band's principal vocalist, who is also a veteran regular officer whose powerful voice has been a cornerstone of the SPF Band for nearly three decades.
Together, they create a dynamic fusion of fresh energy and seasoned artistry, captivating audiences with every performance.
