Left as the sole caregiver to her young granddaughter, Madam R was determined not to let history repeat itself. She poured every ounce of love into raising her, yet the weight of the past lingered. Everything changed when she received a call - K had joined New Life Stories (NLS), a social service agency that supports children of the incarcerated and their families. K was ready to make amends and be a better mother.

Caseworkers at NLS provided assistance and care to the family as they worked towards rebuilding their lives. Even after K was released, NLS's ongoing support continued to keep them on the right path.
